Board Member, Healthy Minds Innovations

Steve is active with a number of organizations focusing on innovation in education. He is the Board Chair for Healthy Minds Innovations, a non-profit that supports the vision and mission of the Center for Healthy Minds.

He is also Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of the board of directors of the George Lucas Educational Foundation, an operating foundation that promotes innovation and publishes stories of exemplary programs in teaching and learning at Edutopia.org. Steve is Co-Founder and President of the board of Educurious Partners, a non-profit corporation researching new models and creating next-generation materials to help reinvent the high school experience for students and teachers.

In addition, he serves on the boards of directors of the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) (CASEL) -- an organization pioneering and developing the field of social and emotional learning for schools -- as well the Teaching Channel, and Engaged Learning. Steve is a Co-Founder and Venture Partner at Polaris Partners, a diversified venture capital firm. Prior to starting Polaris, Steve spent more than 15 years in executive positions in software companies and the digital media industry. He served as Vice President of Broadband Media Applications at Microsoft Corporation and as President and CEO of Continuum Productions (now Corbis).

Previously, Steve served as Vice President and General Manager of LucasArts Games and Learning divisions, and as Vice President of the New Media Group at Lucasfilm Ltd.
