Estelle is interested in the relationships between chronic stress, mental health and the immune system. At the Center for Healthy Minds, she primarily works on analyzing psychoneuroimmunology datasets, with a focus on brain-body connections in asthma. She ultimately hopes to integrate a scientific understanding of the neural mechanisms of psychological disorders, disease and well-being into clinical practice.
Previously, Estelle used electrocardiography to evaluate parasympathetic nervous system activity and analyze the relations between interoception—an individual’s perception of their internal body states—and stress contagion.
