Jampa Thakchoe was born on October 3, 1989, as a Tibetan born in Bhutan, and currently resides at Sera Jey Monastery. He has been dedicated to his education, pursuing his coursework at Sera Jey Monastery. He completed a three-year course on Vinaya (Ethics) since 2023, a four-year course on Madhyamika (Middle Way) from 2019 to 2022, a seven-year course on Paramita (Perfection of Wisdom) from 2012 to 2018, and a three-year course on Buddhist Elementary of Logics from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, he accomplished his CBSE Class X in 2009 at Sera Jey Secondary School. Since 2013, he has been a special science class student at Sera Jey Monastery. Thakchoe has recently completed a Master of Psychology (MAPC) at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) from 2019 to 2024 and completed a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at IGNOU from 2014 to 2017. He also completed a Bachelor Preparation Program (BPP) in 2013. Thakchoe is an active member of ETSI Sustainability Phase. His noteworthy achievements include certificates in Rigchung (2014) and Translation Practice and Methodology (2018) at Sera Jey Monastery, and a Certificate of four years ETSI Summer Programs translation in 2019. In 2022, he received a certificate for the first stage course of ”Middle Way Approach in Neuroscience" as a monk-researcher. Thakchoe has contributed to research and publications, including "Inter-brain Synchronization in the Practice of Tibetan Monastic Debate" in 2020 and "Tibetan Buddhist Analytical Meditation and Monastic Debate: A Psychological Analysis of a Reasoning-Based Meditation Practice" in 2019. He is currently working as an Counselor and Math Teacher at Sera Jey Monastery, and is also a member of the Debate Research Study and Tukdam Study teams.
