Kurt Squire

Professor of Digital Media in Curriculum and Instruction; and Co-Director, Games+Learning+Society, University of Wisconsin–Madison

Kurt is currently a professor in the Department of Informatics at University of California-Irvine. Previously, he was a Professor of Digital Media in Curriculum and Instruction, and Co-Director of the Games+Learning+Society Center within the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery. During his time at the Center, Kurt led a design team working to translate ideas from Center Founder Richard Davidson's research into a cutting-edge game for mindfulness.

He is the author/editor of three books, and more than 75 publications on learning with digital media. Kurt is the recipient of an National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER grant, as well as grant support from the NSF, National Institutes of Healthy, Department of Education, the MacArthur Foundation, AMD and Gates Foundations, and has created active partnerships with companies such as Microsoft.
