Kyle Dougherty
Grad Student, Department of Asian Languages and Cultures
1-920-540-2212

Kyle studies Tibetan language and various topics related to Asian religion, culture and philosophy at UW Madison. He is primarily interested in the intersections of Buddhist philosophies, teachings, and practices with healthcare, therapy, and mental health. Kyle is also interested in the ways that capitalism and consumerism interact in these areas. He hopes that humanity, perhaps through becoming better able to tame its afflictive emotions through internal rather than external means, will (rather quickly) move towards a better manner of living in harmony with the planet instead of continuing to destructively exploit it.
