Cultivating Well-Being Daylong Retreat at Tergar Madison
Apr 6, 2019 - 9:30AM to 4:30PM
For centuries, meditation and other forms of contemplative practice have been used to transform the heart and mind. These practices are now being explored with the tools of modern science, shedding new light on these ancient practices. Building on the explosion of mindfulness research in recent years, scientists are now turning their attention to practices that cultivate qualities like insight, kindness, and altruism.
Center founder Richard Davidson and meditation expert Cortland Dahl are at the forefront of this research. In this daylong retreat, we’ll spend time practicing the forms of meditation that they are now studying, and learning more about this pioneering research. The day will include periods of guided meditation, presentations from Drs. Davidson and Dahl, and periods of discussion.
